Empty every drawer, identify fragile parts, and compare the largest piece with the route out. Start with the object, then follow its complete path to the truck.
Empty first, then count the pieces
Remove clothing, documents, jewelry, medication, keys, and keepsakes. Count the dresser, nightstands, mirrors, benches, and loose drawers as separate pieces when describing the load.
Measure the furniture and the route
Record height, width, and depth at the widest points. Compare those numbers with doors, stair turns, elevator openings, and the loading path.
Remove loose parts when designed to come off
Drawers and detachable mirrors may reduce weight and prevent shifting. Label anything that belongs together. Do not dismantle glued joints or attached cabinetry.
